3 John

1The elder⁴²⁴⁵ unto the wellbeloved²⁷ Gaius,¹⁰⁵⁰ whom³⁷³⁹ I¹⁴⁷³ love²⁵ in¹⁷²² the truth.²²⁵

^2C Beloved,²⁷ I wish²¹⁷² above⁴⁰¹² all things³⁹⁵⁶ that thou⁴⁵⁷¹ mayest prosper²¹³⁷ and²⁵³² be in health,⁵¹⁹⁸ even as²⁵³¹ thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ soul⁵⁵⁹⁰ prospereth.²¹³⁷

³ For¹⁰⁶³ I rejoiced⁵⁴⁶³ greatly,³⁰²⁹ when the brethren⁸⁰ came²⁰⁶⁴ and²⁵³² testified³¹⁴⁰ of the truth²²⁵ that is in thee,⁴⁶⁷⁵ even as²⁵³¹ thou⁴⁷⁷¹ walkest⁴⁰⁴³ in¹⁷²² the truth.²²⁵

⁴ I have²¹⁹² no³⁷⁵⁶ greater^31865130 joy⁵⁴⁷⁹ than to²⁴⁴³ hear¹⁹¹ that my¹⁶⁹⁹ children⁵⁰⁴³ walk⁴⁰⁴³ in¹⁷²² truth.²²⁵

⁵ Beloved,²⁷ thou doest⁴¹⁶⁰ faithfully⁴¹⁰³ whatsoever^37391437 thou doest²⁰³⁸ to¹⁵¹⁹ the brethren,⁸⁰ and²⁵³² to¹⁵¹⁹ strangers;³⁵⁸¹

⁶ Which³⁷³⁹ have borne witness³¹⁴⁰ of thy⁴⁶⁷⁵ charity²⁶ before¹⁷⁹⁹ the church:¹⁵⁷⁷ whom³⁷³⁹ if thou bring forward on their journey⁴³¹¹ after⁵¹⁶ ➔ a godly²³¹⁶ sort,⁵¹⁶ thou shalt do⁴¹⁶⁰ well:²⁵⁷³

^7C Because that¹⁰⁶³ for⁵²²⁸ ➔ his⁸⁴⁶ name's³⁶⁸⁶ sake⁵²²⁸ they went forth,¹⁸³¹ taking²⁹⁸³ nothing³³⁶⁷ of⁵⁷⁵ the Gentiles.¹⁴⁸⁴

^8C We²²⁴⁹ therefore³⁷⁶⁷ ought³⁷⁸⁴ to receive⁶¹⁸ such,⁵¹⁰⁸ that²⁴⁴³ we might be¹⁰⁹⁶ fellowhelpers⁴⁹⁰⁴ to the truth.²²⁵

^9C I wrote¹¹²⁵ unto the church:¹⁵⁷⁷ but²³⁵ Diotrephes,¹³⁶¹ who³⁵⁸⁸ loveth to have the preeminence⁵³⁸³ among them,⁸⁴⁶ receiveth¹⁹²⁶ us²²⁴⁸ not.³⁷⁵⁶

^10C Wherefore,^12235124 if¹⁴³⁷ I come,²⁰⁶⁴ I will remember⁵²⁷⁹ his⁸⁴⁶ deeds²⁰⁴¹ which³⁷³⁹ he doeth,⁴¹⁶⁰ prating against⁵³⁹⁶ us²²⁴⁸ with³⁰⁵⁶ malicious words:⁴¹⁹⁰ and²⁵³² not³³⁶¹ content⁷¹⁴ therewith,^19095125 neither³⁷⁷⁷ doth¹⁹²⁶ ➔ he himself⁸⁴⁶ receive¹⁹²⁶ the brethren,⁸⁰ and²⁵³² forbiddeth²⁹⁶⁷ them that would,¹⁰¹⁴ and²⁵³² casteth¹⁵⁴⁴ them out of¹⁵³⁷ the church.¹⁵⁷⁷

^11C Beloved,²⁷ follow³⁴⁰¹ not³³⁶¹ that which is evil,²⁵⁵⁶ but²³⁵ that which is good.¹⁸ He that doeth good¹⁵ is²⁰⁷⁶ of¹⁵³⁷ God:²³¹⁶ but¹¹⁶¹ he that doeth evil²⁵⁵⁴ hath³⁷⁰⁸ ➔ not³⁷⁵⁶ seen³⁷⁰⁸ God.²³¹⁶

^12C Demetrius¹²¹⁶ hath good report³¹⁴⁰ of⁵²⁵⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ men, and²⁵³² of⁵²⁵⁹ the truth²²⁵ itself:⁸⁴⁶ yea,¹¹⁶¹ and²⁵³² we²²⁴⁹ also bear record;³¹⁴⁰ and²⁵³² ye know¹⁴⁹² that³⁷⁵⁴ our²²⁵⁷ record³¹⁴¹ is²⁰⁷⁶ true.²²⁷

¹³ I had²¹⁹² many things⁴¹⁸³ to write,¹¹²⁵ but²³⁵ I will²³⁰⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ with¹²²³ ink³¹⁸⁸ and²⁵³² pen²⁵⁶³ write¹¹²⁵ unto thee:⁴⁶⁷¹

^14C But¹¹⁶¹ I trust¹⁶⁷⁹ I shall¹⁴⁹² ➔ shortly²¹¹² see¹⁴⁹² thee,⁴⁵⁷¹ and²⁵³² we shall speak²⁹⁸⁰ face⁴⁷⁵⁰ to⁴³¹⁴ face.⁴⁷⁵⁰ Peace¹⁵¹⁵ be to thee.⁴⁶⁷¹ Our friends⁵³⁸⁴ salute⁷⁸² thee.⁴⁵⁷¹ Greet⁷⁸² the friends⁵³⁸⁴ by²⁵⁹⁶ name.³⁶⁸⁶
