2 Thessalonians

2^CNow¹¹⁶¹ we beseech²⁰⁶⁵ you,⁵²⁰⁹ brethren,⁸⁰ by⁵²²⁸ the coming³⁹⁵² of our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ and²⁵³² by our²²⁵⁷ gathering together¹⁹⁹⁷ unto¹⁹⁰⁹ him,⁸⁴⁶

^2C That¹⁵¹⁹ ye⁵²⁰⁹ be⁴⁵³¹ ➔ not³³⁶¹ soon⁵⁰³⁰ shaken⁴⁵³¹ in⁵⁷⁵ mind,³⁵⁶³ or³³⁸³ be troubled,²³⁶⁰ neither³³⁸³ by¹²²³ spirit,⁴¹⁵¹ nor³³⁸³ by¹²²³ word,³⁰⁵⁶ nor³³⁸³ by¹²²³ letter¹⁹⁹² as⁵⁶¹³ from¹²²³ us,²²⁵⁷ as⁵⁶¹³ that³⁷⁵⁴ the day²²⁵⁰ of Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ is at hand.¹⁷⁶⁴

^3C Let¹⁸¹⁸ ➔ no³³⁶¹ man⁵¹⁰⁰ deceive¹⁸¹⁸ you⁵²⁰⁹ by²⁵⁹⁶ any³³⁶⁷ means:⁵¹⁵⁸ for³⁷⁵⁴ that day shall not come, except³³⁶² there come²⁰⁶⁴ a falling away⁶⁴⁶ first,⁴⁴¹² and²⁵³² that man⁴⁴⁴ of sin²⁶⁶ be revealed,⁶⁰¹ the son⁵²⁰⁷ of perdition;⁶⁸⁴

^4C Who³⁵⁸⁸ opposeth⁴⁸⁰ and²⁵³² exalteth⁵²²⁹ himself above¹⁹⁰⁹ all³⁹⁵⁶ that is called³⁰⁰⁴ God,²³¹⁶ or²²²⁸ that is worshipped;⁴⁵⁷⁴ so⁵⁶²⁰ that he⁸⁴⁶ as⁵⁶¹³ God²³¹⁶ sitteth²⁵²³ in¹⁵¹⁹ the temple³⁴⁸⁵ of God,²³¹⁶ shewing⁵⁸⁴ himself¹⁴³⁸ that³⁷⁵⁴ he is²⁰⁷⁶ God.²³¹⁶

⁵ Remember ye³⁴²¹ not,³⁷⁵⁶ that,³⁷⁵⁴ when I was⁵⁶⁰⁷ yet²⁰⁸⁹ with⁴³¹⁴ you,⁵²⁰⁹ I told³⁰⁰⁴ you⁵²¹³ these things?⁵⁰²³

^6C And²⁵³² now³⁵⁶⁸ ye know¹⁴⁹² what withholdeth²⁷²² that¹⁵¹⁹ he⁸⁴⁶ might be revealed⁶⁰¹ in¹⁷²² his¹⁴³⁸ time.²⁵⁴⁰

^7C For¹⁰⁶³ the mystery³⁴⁶⁶ of iniquity⁴⁵⁸ doth¹⁷⁵⁴ ➔ already²²³⁵ work:¹⁷⁵⁴ only³⁴⁴⁰ he who now⁷³⁷ letteth²⁷²² will let, until²¹⁹³ he be taken¹⁰⁹⁶ out of¹⁵³⁷ the way.³³¹⁹

^8C And²⁵³² then⁵¹¹⁹ shall⁶⁰¹ ➔ that Wicked⁴⁵⁹ be revealed,⁶⁰¹ whom³⁷³⁹ the Lord²⁹⁶² shall consume³⁵⁵ with the spirit⁴¹⁵¹ of his⁸⁴⁶ mouth,⁴⁷⁵⁰ and²⁵³² shall destroy²⁶⁷³ with the brightness²⁰¹⁵ of his⁸⁴⁶ coming:³⁹⁵²

^9C Even him, whose³⁷³⁹ coming³⁹⁵² is²⁰⁷⁶ after²⁵⁹⁶ the working¹⁷⁵³ of Satan⁴⁵⁶⁷ with¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ power¹⁴¹¹ and²⁵³² signs⁴⁵⁹² and²⁵³² lying⁵⁵⁷⁹ wonders,⁵⁰⁵⁹

^10C And²⁵³² with¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ deceivableness⁵³⁹ of unrighteousness⁹³ in¹⁷²² them that perish;⁶²² because^4733739 they received¹²⁰⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ the love²⁶ of the truth,²²⁵ that¹⁵¹⁹ they⁸⁴⁶ might be saved.⁴⁹⁸²

^11C And²⁵³² for this⁵¹²⁴ cause¹²²³ God²³¹⁶ shall send³⁹⁹² them⁸⁴⁶ strong¹⁷⁵³ delusion,⁴¹⁰⁶ that¹⁵¹⁹ they⁸⁴⁶ should believe⁴¹⁰⁰ a lie:⁵⁵⁷⁹

^12C That²⁴⁴³ they all³⁹⁵⁶ might be damned²⁹¹⁹ who³⁵⁸⁸ believed⁴¹⁰⁰ not³³⁶¹ the truth,²²⁵ but²³⁵ had pleasure²¹⁰⁶ in¹⁷²² unrighteousness.⁹³

^13C But¹¹⁶¹ we²²⁴⁹ are bound³⁷⁸⁴ to give thanks²¹⁶⁸ alway³⁸⁴² to God²³¹⁶ for⁴⁰¹² you,⁵²¹⁶ brethren⁸⁰ beloved²⁵ of⁵²⁵⁹ the Lord,²⁹⁶² because³⁷⁵⁴ God²³¹⁶ hath¹³⁸ ➔ from⁵⁷⁵ the beginning⁷⁴⁶ chosen¹³⁸ you⁵²⁰⁹ to¹⁵¹⁹ salvation⁴⁹⁹¹ through¹⁷²² sanctification³⁸ of the Spirit⁴¹⁵¹ and²⁵³² belief⁴¹⁰² of the truth:²²⁵

^14C Whereunto^15193739 he called²⁵⁶⁴ you⁵²⁰⁹ by¹²²³ our²²⁵⁷ gospel,²⁰⁹⁸ to¹⁵¹⁹ the obtaining⁴⁰⁴⁷ of the glory¹³⁹¹ of our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

^15C Therefore,^6863767 brethren,⁸⁰ stand fast,⁴⁷³⁹ and²⁵³² hold²⁹⁰² the traditions³⁸⁶² which³⁷³⁹ ye have been taught,¹³²¹ whether¹⁵³⁵ by¹²²³ word,³⁰⁵⁶ or^15351223 our²²⁵⁷ epistle.¹⁹⁹²

^16C Now¹¹⁶¹ our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ himself,⁸⁴⁶ and²⁵³² God,²³¹⁶ even²⁵³² our²²⁵⁷ Father,³⁹⁶² which³⁵⁸⁸ hath loved²⁵ us,²²⁴⁸ and²⁵³² hath given¹³²⁵ us everlasting¹⁶⁶ consolation³⁸⁷⁴ and²⁵³² good¹⁸ hope¹⁶⁸⁰ through¹⁷²² grace,⁵⁴⁸⁵

^17C Comfort³⁸⁷⁰ your⁵²¹⁶ hearts,²⁵⁸⁸ and²⁵³² stablish⁴⁷⁴¹ you⁵²⁰⁹ in¹⁷²² every³⁹⁵⁶ good¹⁸ word³⁰⁵⁶ and²⁵³² work.²⁰⁴¹

3Finally,³⁰⁶³ brethren,⁸⁰ pray⁴³³⁶ for⁴⁰¹² us,²²⁵⁷ that²⁴⁴³ the word³⁰⁵⁶ of the Lord²⁹⁶² may have free course,⁵¹⁴³ and²⁵³² be glorified,¹³⁹² even²⁵³² as²⁵³¹ it is with⁴³¹⁴ you:⁵²⁰⁹

^2C And²⁵³² that²⁴⁴³ we may be delivered⁴⁵⁰⁶ from⁵⁷⁵ unreasonable⁸²⁴ and²⁵³² wicked⁴¹⁹⁰ men:⁴⁴⁴ for¹⁰⁶³ all³⁹⁵⁶ men have not³⁷⁵⁶ faith.⁴¹⁰²

³ But¹¹⁶¹ the Lord²⁹⁶² is²⁰⁷⁶ faithful,⁴¹⁰³ who³⁷³⁹ shall stablish⁴⁷⁴¹ you,⁵²⁰⁹ and²⁵³² keep⁵⁴⁴² you from⁵⁷⁵ evil.⁴¹⁹⁰

⁴ And¹¹⁶¹ we have confidence³⁹⁸² in¹⁷²² the Lord²⁹⁶² touching¹⁹⁰⁹ you,⁵²⁰⁹ that³⁷⁵⁴ ye both²⁵³² do⁴¹⁶⁰ and²⁵³² will do⁴¹⁶⁰ the things which³⁷³⁹ we command³⁸⁵³ you.⁵²¹³

^5C And¹¹⁶¹ the Lord²⁹⁶² direct²⁷²⁰ your⁵²¹⁶ hearts²⁵⁸⁸ into¹⁵¹⁹ the love²⁶ of God,²³¹⁶ and²⁵³² into¹⁵¹⁹ the patient waiting⁵²⁸¹ for Christ.⁵⁵⁴⁷

^6C Now¹¹⁶¹ we command³⁸⁵³ you,⁵²¹³ brethren,⁸⁰ in¹⁷²² the name³⁶⁸⁶ of our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ that ye withdraw⁴⁷²⁴ yourselves⁵²⁰⁹ from⁵⁷⁵ every³⁹⁵⁶ brother⁸⁰ that walketh⁴⁰⁴³ disorderly,⁸¹⁴ and²⁵³² not³³⁶¹ after²⁵⁹⁶ the tradition³⁸⁶² which³⁷³⁹ he received³⁸⁸⁰ of³⁸⁴⁴ us.²²⁵⁷

⁷ For¹⁰⁶³ yourselves⁸⁴⁶ know¹⁴⁹² how⁴⁴⁵⁹ ye ought¹¹⁶³ to follow³⁴⁰¹ us:²²⁴⁸ for³⁷⁵⁴ we behaved⁸¹² ➔ not³⁷⁵⁶ ourselves disorderly⁸¹² among¹⁷²² you;⁵²¹³

⁸ Neither³⁷⁶¹ did we eat⁵³¹⁵ any man's^38445100 bread⁷⁴⁰ for nought;¹⁴³² but²³⁵ wrought²⁰³⁸ with¹⁷²² labour²⁸⁷³ and²⁵³² travail³⁴⁴⁹ night³⁵⁷¹ and²⁵³² day,²²⁵⁰ that⁴³¹⁴ we might¹⁹¹² ➔ not³³⁶¹ be chargeable¹⁹¹² to any⁵¹⁰⁰ of you:⁵²¹⁶

^9C Not³⁷⁵⁶ because³⁷⁵⁴ we have²¹⁹² not³⁷⁵⁶ power,¹⁸⁴⁹ but²³⁵ to²⁴⁴³ make¹³²⁵ ourselves¹⁴³⁸ an ensample⁵¹⁷⁹ unto you⁵²¹³ to¹⁵¹⁹ follow³⁴⁰¹ us.²²⁴⁸

^10C For¹⁰⁶³ even²⁵³² when³⁷⁵³ we were²²⁵⁸ with⁴³¹⁴ you,⁵²⁰⁹ this⁵¹²⁴ we commanded³⁸⁵³ you,⁵²¹³ that³⁷⁵⁴ if any¹⁵³⁶ would²³⁰⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ work,²⁰³⁸ neither³³⁶⁶ should he eat.²⁰⁶⁸

^11C For¹⁰⁶³ we hear¹⁹¹ that there are some⁵¹⁰⁰ which walk⁴⁰⁴³ among¹⁷²² you⁵²¹³ disorderly,⁸¹⁴ working²⁰³⁸ not at all,³³⁶⁷ but²³⁵ are busybodies.⁴⁰²⁰

¹² Now¹¹⁶¹ them that are such⁵¹⁰⁸ we command³⁸⁵³ and²⁵³² exhort³⁸⁷⁰ by¹²²³ our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ,⁵⁵⁴⁷ that²⁴⁴³ with³³²⁶ quietness²²⁷¹ they work,²⁰³⁸ and eat²⁰⁶⁸ their own¹⁴³⁸ bread.⁷⁴⁰

¹³ But¹¹⁶¹ ye,⁵²¹⁰ brethren,⁸⁰ be¹⁵⁷³ ➔ not³³⁶¹ weary¹⁵⁷³ in well doing.²⁵⁶⁹

^14C And¹¹⁶¹ if any man¹⁵³⁶ obey⁵²¹⁹ not³⁷⁵⁶ our²²⁵⁷ word³⁰⁵⁶ by¹²²³ this epistle,¹⁹⁹² note⁴⁵⁹³ that⁵¹²⁶ man, and²⁵³² have⁴⁸⁷⁴ ➔ no³³⁶¹ company with⁴⁸⁷⁴ him,⁸⁴⁶ that²⁴⁴³ he may be ashamed.¹⁷⁸⁸

^15C Yet²⁵³² count²²³³ him not³³⁶¹ as⁵⁶¹³ an enemy,²¹⁹⁰ but²³⁵ admonish³⁵⁶⁰ him as⁵⁶¹³ a brother.⁸⁰

¹⁶ Now¹¹⁶¹ the Lord²⁹⁶² of peace¹⁵¹⁵ himself⁸⁴⁶ give¹³²⁵ you⁵²¹³ peace¹⁵¹⁵ always^12233956 by¹⁷²² all³⁹⁵⁶ means.⁵¹⁵⁸ The Lord²⁹⁶² be with³³²⁶ you⁵²¹⁶ all.³⁹⁵⁶

¹⁷ The salutation⁷⁸³ of Paul³⁹⁷² with mine own¹⁶⁹⁹ hand,⁵⁴⁹⁵ which³⁷³⁹ is²⁰⁷⁶ the token⁴⁵⁹² in¹⁷²² every³⁹⁵⁶ epistle:¹⁹⁹² so³⁷⁷⁹ I write.¹¹²⁵

¹⁸ The grace⁵⁴⁸⁵ of our²²⁵⁷ Lord²⁹⁶² Jesus²⁴²⁴ Christ⁵⁵⁴⁷ be with³³²⁶ you⁵²¹⁶ all.³⁹⁵⁶ Amen.²⁸¹[fn]
