2And now, O ye priests,³⁵⁴⁸ this commandment

² If ye will not hear,⁸⁰⁸⁵ and if ye will not lay⁷⁷⁶⁰ it to heart,³⁸²⁰ to give⁵⁴¹⁴ glory³⁵¹⁹ unto my name,⁸⁰³⁴ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts,⁶⁶³⁵ I will even send⁷⁹⁷¹ a curse³⁹⁹⁴ upon you, and I will curse⁷⁷⁹ your blessings:¹²⁹³ yea, I have cursed⁷⁷⁹ them already, because ye do not lay⁷⁷⁶⁰ it to heart.

³ Behold, I will corrupt¹⁶⁰⁵ your seed,²²³³ and spread²²¹⁹ dung⁶⁵⁶⁹ upon your faces,⁶⁴⁴⁰ even the dung⁶⁵⁶⁹ of your solemn feasts;²²⁸² and one shall take you away

⁴ And ye shall know³⁰⁴⁵ that I have sent⁷⁹⁷¹ this commandment⁴⁶⁸⁷ unto you, that my covenant¹²⁸⁵ might be with Levi,³⁸⁷⁸ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

^5C My covenant¹²⁸⁵ was with him of life²⁴¹⁶ and peace;⁷⁹⁶⁵ and I gave⁵⁴¹⁴ them to him for the fear⁴¹⁷² wherewith he feared³³⁷² me, and was afraid²⁸⁶⁵ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ my name.

⁶ The law⁸⁴⁵¹ of truth⁵⁷¹ was in his mouth,⁶³¹⁰ and iniquity⁵⁷⁶⁶ was not found⁴⁶⁷² in his lips:⁸¹⁹³ he walked¹⁹⁸⁰ with me in peace⁷⁹⁶⁵ and equity,⁴³³⁴ and did turn⁷⁷²⁵ many⁷²²⁷ away⁷⁷²⁵ from iniquity.

⁷ For the priest's³⁵⁴⁸ lips⁸¹⁹³ should keep⁸¹⁰⁴ knowledge,¹⁸⁴⁷ and they should seek¹²⁴⁵ the law⁸⁴⁵¹ at his mouth:⁶³¹⁰ for he is the messenger⁴³⁹⁷ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

⁸ But ye are departed⁵⁴⁹³ out of the way;¹⁸⁷⁰ ye have caused many⁷²²⁷ to stumble³⁷⁸² at the law;⁸⁴⁵¹ ye have corrupted⁷⁸⁴³ the covenant¹²⁸⁵ of Levi,³⁸⁷⁸ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

⁹ Therefore have I also made⁵⁴¹⁴ you contemptible⁹⁵⁹ and base⁸²¹⁷ before all the people,⁵⁹⁷¹ according⁶³¹⁰ as ye have not kept⁸¹⁰⁴ my ways,¹⁸⁷⁰ but have been partial^53756440 in the law.

¹⁰ Have we not all one²⁵⁹ father?¹ hath not one²⁵⁹ God⁴¹⁰ created¹²⁵⁴ us? why do we deal treacherously⁸⁹⁸ every man³⁷⁶ against his brother,²⁵¹ by profaning²⁴⁹⁰ the covenant¹²⁸⁵ of our fathers?

^11C Judah³⁰⁶³ hath dealt treacherously,⁸⁹⁸ and an abomination⁸⁴⁴¹ is committed⁶²¹³ in Israel³⁴⁷⁸ and in Jerusalem;³³⁸⁹ for Judah³⁰⁶³ hath profaned²⁴⁹⁰ the holiness⁶⁹⁴⁴ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ which he loved,¹⁵⁷ and hath married¹¹⁶⁶ the daughter¹³²³ of a strange⁵²³⁶ god.

¹² The Lord³⁰⁶⁸ will cut off³⁷⁷² the man³⁷⁶ that doeth⁶²¹³ this, the master⁵⁷⁸² and the scholar,⁶⁰³⁰ out of the tabernacles¹⁶⁸ of Jacob,³²⁹⁰ and him that offereth⁵⁰⁶⁶ an offering⁴⁵⁰³ unto the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

¹³ And this have ye done⁶²¹³ again,⁸¹⁴⁵ covering³⁶⁸⁰ the altar⁴¹⁹⁶ of the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ with tears,¹⁸³² with weeping,¹⁰⁶⁵ and with crying out,⁶⁰³ insomuch that he regardeth⁶⁴³⁷ not the offering⁴⁵⁰³ any more, or receiveth³⁹⁴⁷ it with good will⁷⁵²² at your hand.

¹⁴ Yet ye say,⁵⁵⁹ Wherefore?⁴¹⁰⁰ Because the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ hath been witness⁵⁷⁴⁹ between thee and the wife⁸⁰² of thy youth,⁵²⁷¹ against whom thou hast dealt treacherously:⁸⁹⁸ yet is she thy companion,²²⁷⁸ and the wife⁸⁰² of thy covenant.

^15C And did not he make⁶²¹³ one?²⁵⁹ Yet had he the residue⁷⁶⁰⁵ of the spirit.⁷³⁰⁷ And wherefore one?²⁵⁹ That he might seek¹²⁴⁵ a godly⁴³⁰ seed.²²³³ Therefore take heed⁸¹⁰⁴ to your spirit,⁷³⁰⁷ and let none deal treacherously⁸⁹⁸ against the wife⁸⁰² of his youth.

¹⁶ For the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ the God⁴³⁰ of Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ saith⁵⁵⁹ that he hateth⁸¹³⁰ putting away:⁷⁹⁷¹ for one covereth³⁶⁸⁰ violence²⁵⁵⁵ with his garment,³⁸³⁰ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts:⁶⁶³⁵ therefore take heed⁸¹⁰⁴ to your spirit,⁷³⁰⁷ that ye deal not treacherously.

¹⁷ Ye have wearied³⁰²¹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ with your words.¹⁶⁹⁷ Yet ye say,⁵⁵⁹ Wherein have we wearied³⁰²¹ him? When ye say,⁵⁵⁹ Every one that doeth⁶²¹³ evil⁷⁴⁵¹ is good²⁸⁹⁶ in the sight⁵⁸⁶⁹ of the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ and he delighteth²⁶⁵⁴ in them; or, Where is the God⁴³⁰ of judgment?

3^CBehold, I will send⁷⁹⁷¹ my messenger,⁴³⁹⁷ and he shall prepare⁶⁴³⁷ the way¹⁸⁷⁰ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ me: and the Lord,¹¹³ whom ye seek,¹²⁴⁵ shall suddenly⁶⁵⁹⁷ come⁹³⁵ to his temple,¹⁹⁶⁴ even the messenger⁴³⁹⁷ of the covenant,¹²⁸⁵ whom ye delight²⁶⁵⁵ in: behold, he shall come,⁹³⁵ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

^2C But who may abide³⁵⁵⁷ the day³¹¹⁷ of his coming?⁹³⁵ and who shall stand⁵⁹⁷⁵ when he appeareth?⁷²⁰⁰ for he is like a refiner's⁶⁸⁸⁴ fire,⁷⁸⁴ and like fullers'³⁵²⁶ soap:

^3C And he shall sit³⁴²⁷ as a refiner⁶⁸⁸⁴ and purifier²⁸⁹¹ of silver:³⁷⁰¹ and he shall purify²⁸⁹¹ the sons¹¹²¹ of Levi,³⁸⁷⁸ and purge²²¹² them as gold²⁰⁹¹ and silver,³⁷⁰¹ that they may offer⁵⁰⁶⁶ unto the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ an offering⁴⁵⁰³ in righteousness.

^4C Then shall the offering⁴⁵⁰³ of Judah³⁰⁶³ and Jerusalem³³⁸⁹ be pleasant⁶¹⁴⁹ unto the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ as in the days³¹¹⁷ of old,⁵⁷⁶⁹ and as in former⁶⁹³¹ years.

^5C And I will come near⁷¹²⁶ to you to judgment;⁴⁹⁴¹ and I will be a swift⁴¹¹⁶ witness⁵⁷⁰⁷ against the sorcerers,³⁷⁸⁴ and against the adulterers,⁵⁰⁰³ and against false⁸²⁶⁷ swearers,⁷⁶⁵⁰ and against those that oppress⁶²³¹ the hireling⁷⁹¹⁶ in his wages,⁷⁹³⁹ the widow,⁴⁹⁰ and the fatherless,³⁴⁹⁰ and that turn aside⁵¹⁸⁶ the stranger¹⁶¹⁶ from his right, and fear³³⁷² not me, saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

^6C For I am the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ I change⁸¹³⁸ not; therefore ye sons¹¹²¹ of Jacob³²⁹⁰ are not consumed.

^7C Even from the days³¹¹⁷ of your fathers¹ ye are gone away⁵⁴⁹³ from mine ordinances,²⁷⁰⁶ and have not kept⁸¹⁰⁴ them. Return⁷⁷²⁵ unto me, and I will return⁷⁷²⁵ unto you, saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.⁶⁶³⁵ But ye said,⁵⁵⁹ Wherein shall we return?

^8C Will a man¹²⁰ rob⁶⁹⁰⁶ God?⁴³⁰ Yet ye have robbed⁶⁹⁰⁶ me. But ye say,⁵⁵⁹ Wherein have we robbed⁶⁹⁰⁶ thee? In tithes⁴⁶⁴³ and offerings.

^9C Ye are cursed⁷⁷⁹ with a curse:³⁹⁹⁴ for ye have robbed⁶⁹⁰⁶ me, even this whole nation.

^10C Bring⁹³⁵ ye all the tithes⁴⁶⁴³ into the storehouse,²¹⁴ that there may be meat²⁹⁶⁴ in mine house,¹⁰⁰⁴ and prove⁹⁷⁴ me now herewith,²⁰⁶³ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts,⁶⁶³⁵ if I will not open⁶⁶⁰⁵ you the windows⁶⁹⁹ of heaven,⁸⁰⁶⁴ and pour you out⁷³²⁴ a blessing,¹²⁹³ that there shall not be room enough

^11C And I will rebuke¹⁶⁰⁵ the devourer³⁹⁸ for your sakes, and he shall not destroy⁷⁸⁴³ the fruits⁶⁵²⁹ of your ground;¹²⁷ neither shall your vine¹⁶¹² cast her fruit⁷⁹²¹ before the time in the field,⁷⁷⁰⁴ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

¹² And all nations¹⁴⁷¹ shall call you blessed:⁸³³ for ye shall be a delightsome²⁶⁵⁶ land,⁷⁷⁶ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

^13C Your words¹⁶⁹⁷ have been stout²³⁸⁸ against me, saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord.³⁰⁶⁸ Yet ye say,⁵⁵⁹ What have we spoken

^14C Ye have said,⁵⁵⁹ It is vain⁷⁷²³ to serve⁵⁶⁴⁷ God:⁴³⁰ and what profit¹²¹⁵ is it that we have kept⁸¹⁰⁴ his ordinance,⁴⁹³¹ and that we have walked¹⁹⁸⁰ mournfully⁶⁹⁴¹ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts?

^15C And now we call⁸³³ the proud²⁰⁸⁶ happy;⁸³³ yea, they that work⁶²¹³ wickedness⁷⁵⁶⁴ are set up;¹¹²⁹ yea, they that tempt⁹⁷⁴ God⁴³⁰ are even delivered.

^16C Then they that feared³³⁷³ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ spake often¹⁶⁹⁶ one³⁷⁶ to another:⁷⁴⁵³ and the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ hearkened,⁷¹⁸¹ and heard⁸⁰⁸⁵ it, and a book⁵⁶¹² of remembrance²¹⁴⁶ was written³⁷⁸⁹ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ him for them that feared³³⁷³ the Lord,³⁰⁶⁸ and that thought²⁸⁰³ upon his name.

^17C And they shall be mine, saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts,⁶⁶³⁵ in that day³¹¹⁷ when I make up⁶²¹³ my jewels;⁵⁴⁵⁹ and I will spare²⁵⁵⁰ them, as a man³⁷⁶ spareth²⁵⁵⁰ his own son¹¹²¹ that serveth

^18C Then shall ye return,⁷⁷²⁵ and discern⁷²⁰⁰ between the righteous⁶⁶⁶² and the wicked,⁷⁵⁶³ between him that serveth⁵⁶⁴⁷ God⁴³⁰ and him that serveth

4^CFor, behold, the day³¹¹⁷ cometh,⁹³⁵ that shall burn¹¹⁹⁷ as an oven;⁸⁵⁷⁴ and all the proud,²⁰⁸⁶ yea, and all that do⁶²¹³ wickedly,⁷⁵⁶⁴ shall be stubble:⁷¹⁷⁹ and the day³¹¹⁷ that cometh⁹³⁵ shall burn them up,³⁸⁵⁷ saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts,⁶⁶³⁵ that it shall leave⁵⁸⁰⁰ them neither root⁸³²⁸ nor branch.

^2C But unto you that fear³³⁷³ my name⁸⁰³⁴ shall the Sun⁸¹²¹ of righteousness⁶⁶⁶⁶ arise²²²⁴ with healing⁴⁸³² in his wings;³⁶⁷¹ and ye shall go forth,³³¹⁸ and grow up⁶³³⁵ as calves⁵⁶⁹⁵ of the stall.

^3C And ye shall tread down⁶⁰⁷² the wicked;⁷⁵⁶³ for they shall be ashes⁶⁶⁵ under the soles³⁷⁰⁹ of your feet⁷²⁷² in the day³¹¹⁷ that I shall do⁶²¹³ this, saith⁵⁵⁹ the Lord³⁰⁶⁸ of hosts.

^4C Remember²¹⁴² ye the law⁸⁴⁵¹ of Moses⁴⁸⁷² my servant,⁵⁶⁵⁰ which I commanded⁶⁶⁸⁰ unto him in Horeb²⁷²² for all Israel,³⁴⁷⁸ with the statutes²⁷⁰⁶ and judgments.

^5C Behold, I will send⁷⁹⁷¹ you Elijah⁴⁵² the prophet⁵⁰³⁰ before⁶⁴⁴⁰ the coming⁹³⁵ of the great¹⁴¹⁹ and dreadful³³⁷² day³¹¹⁷ of the Lord:

^6C And he shall turn⁷⁷²⁵ the heart³⁸²⁰ of the fathers¹ to the children,¹¹²¹ and the heart³⁸²⁰ of the children¹¹²¹ to their fathers,¹ lest I come⁹³⁵ and smite⁵²²¹ the earth⁷⁷⁶ with a curse.
